CIS/CIN

In Puglia, hospitality establishments, including Bed and Breakfasts (B&Bs), are subject to specific regulations that require the assignment of two identification codes: the Structure Identification Code (CIS) and the National Identification Code (CIN).

The CIS is a 19-character alphanumeric code assigned by the Puglia Region to all accommodation facilities, including B&Bs, registered in the regional register of hospitality structures. This register includes both hotel and non-hotel accommodations, such as B&Bs, holiday homes, and guesthouses.

CIS-related obligations:

  • Mandatory registration: Managers must register their facility in the regional Digital Management System (DMS) at www.dms.puglia.it.

  • Advertising and promotion: Since July 1, 2020, it is mandatory to include the CIS in all promotional content related to the facility, both in print and digital formats.

The CIN is a national code assigned by the Ministry of Tourism to hospitality structures, including tourist rentals and B&Bs. In Puglia, starting from June 3, 2024, the CIN can be requested through the national platform Banca Dati Strutture Ricettive (BDSR).

Procedure to obtain the CIN:

  • Registration with DMS Puglia: You must already be registered in the regional DMS system.

  • Access the BDSR platform: Log in to the BDSR portal using your digital identity (SPID).

  • Data verification and integration: Review and complete the information related to your facility.

  • Assignment of the CIN: Once the process is completed, the system will assign a CIN to the facility.

CIN-related obligations:

  • CIN display: The code must be visibly displayed outside the facility and included in all advertisements, both online and offline.

  • Transparency and control: The introduction of the CIN aims to ensure greater transparency and oversight of hospitality facilities operating in the region.
